2021: Played in eight games, starting three at middle linebacker...compiled 27 tackles, three TFLs and one sack...twice had a career-high six stops (Virginia Tech and Western Michigan)...had a nine-yard sack against Massachusetts.
2020: Started the opening two games (Austin Peay and Syracuse) at middle linebacker before missing the balance of the season due to injury…totaled seven tackles on the year…had a season-high four stops with an assisted TFL against Syracuse…had three tackles against Austin Peay.
2019: Played in 12 games, serving on special teams and as a reserve middle linebacker…totaled nine tackles, one sack and a blocked punt on the year…twice had a season-high three stops (Ohio and Duke)…had a four-yard sack in the Ohio game…in Pitt’s 35-34 win over UCF, was responsible for one of the game’s crucial plays when he scooped up a blocked punt (by Aaron Mathews) and returned it for an 18-yard touchdown…the following week, Davis himself blocked a Delaware punt that Pitt parlayed into a TD six plays later.
2018: Played in four games as a true freshman, preserving a redshirt…appearances came against Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Clemson in the ACC Championship…had one tackle against the Hokies.

PERSONAL: Wendell Davis Jr., born 7/14/00, is the son of Wendell and Shauna Davis Sr….has two brothers…father was a tight end/fullback at Temple and went on to play professionally for the NFL’s San Diego Chargers (1998-2000) and CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos (2002)…media and professional communications major.
