2022: A graduate transfer from Missouri State who enrolled at Pitt with one season of eligibility…enjoyed an impact year for the Panthers, playing in all 13 games and making three starts…starting assignments came at outside linebacker against North Carolina, Duke and UCLA (Sun Bowl)…compiled 49 tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, three pass breakups, an interception and a forced fumble on the year…twice collected a season-high eight tackles (Virginia Tech and Miami)…had a six-yard sack against the Hurricanes…in the Sun Bowl, had five tackles, two tackles for loss, a four-yard sack as well as a crucial interception at the Pitt 6 to turn back a UCLA drive…had five stops, an assisted TFL and forced fumble against Tennessee…named to the All-ACC Academic Football Team…selected to play in the Tropical Bowl all-star game.
AT MISSOURI STATE (2019-21): Two-time All-Missouri Valley Football Conference at linebacker…a third-team selection on the 2021 Phil Steele FCS All-America Team after leading the Bears in tackles (106), tackles for loss (14.5) and forced fumbles (four)…helped team to an 8-4 record and the 2021 NCAA FCS Playoffs…played in 33 career games at MSU, making 24 starts…compiled career totals of 212 tackles, 21.5 TFLs, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
AT INDEPENDENCE C.C. (2018): Collected 46 tackles as a starting linebacker under Coach Jason Brown at Independence C.C. in Kansas… enrolled at Independence after spending the 2017 season at NCAA Division II program Southern Arkansas University.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-sport standout at Louisiana’s Breaux Bridge High, where he lettered in football, basketball and track and field…was an all state performer in football as a senior and twice earned all-district accolades…played under Coach Terry Martin.
PERSONAL: Tylar Kane Wiltz, born 11/18/98, is the son of Kevin Wiltz and Tara Gordon…has five sisters and four brothers…graduated from Missouri State with a bachelor’s degree in biology…enrolled in Pitt’s Katz Graduate School of Business.
