Zane Rockelman serves as Pitt’s director of football operations, a role he assumed in July 2025.
Rockelman oversees the day-to-day football operations in the areas of athletic training, equipment, video, field maintenance and support staff, while managing the program’s master calendar. He coordinates the administrative aspects of practice, preseason camp and bowl travel, assists with team travel logistics, manages officials reports, and maintains scholarship numbers. Rockelman also serves as a liaison to academics, sports information, equipment and video, while assisting with recruiting operations, game-day logistics and special projects assigned by the head coach.
Prior to being named director of football operations, Rockelman served as a football operations student assistant at Pitt from 2021-25, where he helped manage daily schedules, coordinate the master calendar, organize practices and assist with game-week logistics and on-campus recruiting efforts. He also completed an operations/equipment internship with the Green Bay Packers during 2025, assisting with OTA practices, inventory management and daily equipment operations.
A Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native, Rockelman earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Pittsburgh in May 2025.
