Trey King enters his first season as an assistant director of player personnel for the Pitt football program.
King comes from Kent State where he spent the 2024 season as the director of player personnel for the Golden Flashes.
At Kent, King worked with the coaching staff on player and recruiting evaluations throughout the year. He oversaw Kent State's Pro Day, worked with professional scouts and managed official and unofficial weekend visits while coordinating their annual summer Mega Camp. King also worked with high schools throughout the recruiting process, organizing walk-on tryouts and handling the recruiting schedule and compliance.
King joined Kent State after completing a post-graduate internship with the NCAA in Indianapolis. With the NCAA, King worked as a site representative for several NCAA championships and served as the Program Manager for the 2024 Elite Athlete Symposium for Football.
Prior to working with the NCAA, King worked with the Dream Bowl as the Director of Player Personnel and Operations. With the Dream Bowl, King served as an area scout, helped put together Dream Bowl rosters and worked with professional scouts, personnel coordination and combine measurements. He also worked with the Big 10 as a team operations member for the 2023 Big 10 Football Championship.
The Centerville, Ohio native was a wide receiver for Duquesne University from 2018-22. King was a member of the Dukes' NEC Championship in 2018 and was a three-time Northeast Conference Honor Roll honoree. He saw action in 35 games over his career at both wide receiver and on special teams. King graduated from Duquesne in 2022 with a degree in Finance with a Sports Management minor.
