Khalid Blount joined the Pitt Football program as an assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2025.
Blount joined the Panthers after serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach on the Texas Tech football staff (2023-24), his first full-time collegiate appointment following prior experience in Pittsburgh as a strength and conditioning intern during the 2022 season.
Blount began his coaching career after completing his playing career as a defensive lineman at North Carolina Central University. He started 16 games during his collegiate career and totaled 38 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss.
A native of Washington, Pa., Blount earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from North Carolina Central. He completed his master’s degree in kinesiology in 2021.
Blount is the son of four-time Super Bowl winner Mel Blount, a 1989 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee following a stellar 14-year career as a defensive back with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
