Jake Herron serves as Director of Football Creative Content, where he leads the development and execution of the program’s visual identity and creative storytelling initiatives.
In his role, Herron oversees the creation of graphic design assets, digital content and recruiting materials that support Pitt Football’s branding, recruiting and fan engagement efforts. He works closely with the coaching staff and football personnel department to develop creative strategies that showcase the program’s vision to prospective student-athletes while maintaining a consistent and impactful brand across digital, social and in-venue platforms.
Herron joined Pitt in March 2026 after spending nearly four years at West Virginia University, where he served as Associate Director of Creative Content for the Mountaineer football program. At WVU, he was responsible for developing recruiting graphics, social media content and creative campaigns that enhanced the program’s digital presence and recruiting efforts.
Prior to West Virginia, Herron served as a graphic designer for Penn State Football, creating social media, game day, statistical and recruiting graphics while collaborating on brand development initiatives for the Nittany Lions. His responsibilities also included directing player and recruiting photoshoots, designing facility graphics and helping create National Signing Day branding and content.
A native of Western Pennsylvania, Herron previously worked as a freelance graphic designer for Pitt Women’s Basketball and completed a graphic design internship with Pitt Athletics. He also managed a variety of design projects for high schools throughout the region.
Herron earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from California University of Pennsylvania in 2021.
