Carter Pickering joined the University of Pittsburgh’s Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes department as an academic counselor with the football team in January of 2023.
Prior to joining Pitt, Pickering worked as a Graduate Assistant in athletic academics at Mississippi State University while earning his Masters in Sport Administration in 2022. While at Mississippi State, he gained experience by working with the Football, Men’s Basketball, Softball and Men’s Golf programs.
A 2020 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management, Pickering worked in multiple areas of the athletic department during his time as a student. He concluded his time at Texas A&M working as an intern with the Center for Student-Athlete Services.
A native of Houston, Texas, Pickering now resides in Pittsburgh.

What is your favorite thing to do in the city of Pittsburgh?
Going to Pirates games or any concert in the summer.
Favorite sports moment at Pitt?
The 2023 football game against Louisville. The weather was terrible, but they were able to pull through and beat a high ranked Louisville team by 17 points. It was all around a fun experience and a big win!
