2016: Played in all 13 games, starting four contests at strong safety...starting assignments came against Marshall (Oct. 1) and the final three games of the year (Duke, Syracuse and Pinstripe Bowl vs. Northwestern) following the season-ending injury to Jordan Whitehead...compiled 56 tackles, a sack assist and three PBUs on the year...had a career-high 14 stops with a sack assist against Syracuse...named to the All-ACC Academic Football Team for the second time in his career.
2015: A returning starter in the secondary, Mitchell was limited to just six games and two starting assignments as a junior due to a foot injury...starts came at free safety against Youngstown State and Navy (Military Bowl)...totaled 15 tackles, a TFL assist and one PBU on the year...had a season-high eight stops against Navy.
2014: Started all 13 games and displayed valuable versatility in his first active season at Pitt...started the first eight games at cornerback before moving to strong safety for the final five contests...switched to safety due to Terrish Webb's season-ending injury (Webb was injured against Georgia Tech on Oct. 25)...totaled 62 tackles, three TFLs and one sack...led Pitt with seven PBUs and tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles...named the ACC Defensive Back of the Week for his performance in Pitt's 21-16 win over Virginia Tech...Mitchell collected a game-high 10 tackles (nine solo) and forced two fumbles against the Hokies...had an eight-yard sack (the first of his career) in the Delaware season opener...had a career-high three PBUs at FIU...selected to the All-ACC Academic Football Team.

PERSONAL: Reginald Lee Mitchell, born 5/15/94, is the son of Vicky Mitchell-Taylor and James Taylor...has two brothers...a relative through marriage of perennial Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis, the former Pitt standout (2004-06) who is now with the New York Jets...earned his bachelor's degree in marketing and enrolled in Pitt's Katz Graduate School of Business.
