2023: Played in nine games, starting eight contests...made his initial three starts at center followed by five at guard...missed three consecutive games (North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Louisville) due to injury...finished his career with 52 games played and 46 starts.
2022: Started all 13 games on Pitt’s offensive front, splitting his assignments between guard and center…earned All-ACC (third team) at guard and Honorable Mention All-ACC at center…began the season at his customary right guard spot but moved to center for the third game when Owen Drexel was injured…made eight starts at center, four at guard and lined up as a tight end in a jumbo set on the opening offensive play against West Virginia…key figure for an offense that produced a 1,400-yard rusher (Israel Abanikanda) and 1,000-yard receiver (Jared Wayne)...named to the All-ACC Academic Football Team for the second time in his career.
2021: Started the initial 10 games of the season before sustaining a season-ending injury…made nine starts at right guard and one at center (New Hampshire)…Honorable Mention All-ACC…instrumental up front for an offense that averaged a school-record 41.4 points and 486.6 yards per game…the Panthers ranked third nationally in scoring and eighth in total offense.
2020: Played in and started eight contests at right guard…named to the Pro Football Focus National Team of the Week for his performance in the season opener against Austin Peay.
2019: Played in 12 games, starting the final seven contests of the year at right guard…named to the Pro Football Focus ACC Team of the Week for his performance at Duke…came off the bench against the Blue Devils and did not surrender a single pass pressure, while being equally effective in the run game…earned his first collegiate start in the following contest at Syracuse and stayed in the starting lineup for the balance of the season…named to the All-ACC Academic Football Team.
2018: Enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh in January 2018 following his early graduation from Butler Senior and participated in spring drills…did not play in any games and redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: One of Pennsylvania’s most highly recruited offensive line prospects…was a standout in all three phases for Butler, starting on the offensive and defensive lines as well as punter…Pennsylvania Football Writers All-Class 6A…Pennsylvania Football News All-Class 6A…Pittsburgh Post-Gazette “Fabulous 22”…Pittsburgh Tribune-Review “Terrific 25”…Butler County “Sweet 16”…first team All-Northern Seven Conference as an offensive guard his senior year…was a first-team selection as a defensive lineman his junior year…rated one of Pennsylvania’s top 25 overall prospects by ESPN (No. 17), Rivals (No. 17) and 247Sports (No. 22)…played under Coach Rob Densmore…also participated in basketball, lacrosse and track and field.
PERSONAL: Jake Mark Kradel, born 8/3/99, is the son of Mark and Tricia Kradel…has one sister…father played football at Slippery Rock University…earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and is now pursuing an MBA in Pitt’s Katz Graduate School of Business.
