2021: Played in five games, making one start at tight end…starting assignment came against Michigan State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl…an outstanding student who was named to the Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame.
2020: Played in the initial five games of the season as a reserve tight end and on special teams…missed the balance of the season due to injury.
2019: Played in all 13 games, serving as a reserve tight end and on special teams.
2018: Played in all 14 games, making one start (at Virginia)...in his lone starting assignment, was a key contributor up front to a rushing attack that produced 254 yards in a 23-13 win over the Cavaliers.
2017: Redshirted as a true freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Rated the top tight end prospect in Pennsylvania and No. 3 in the East region by Scout…was a two-way standout for Pine-Richland, playing on the defensive line in addition to offense…played in only nine games due to injury but had eight receptions for 78 yards (9.8 avg.) on offense and 31 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss on defense…helped team to a 7-5 record and the semifinals of the WPIAL Class 6A playoffs…played under Coach Eric Kasperowicz, a former defensive back/linebacker at Pitt from 1994-97…Carrigan joined Pine-Richland for his senior year, transferring from Weirton (W.Va.) PERSONAL: Grant Riley Carrigan, born 1/8/99, is the son of Rich and Melissa Carrigan…has one brother and one sister…father played basketball at Pitt from 1984-88…his mother participated in crew at Pitt...earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and is now enrolled in Pitt’s Katz Graduate School of Business.
