Last year, Caprara served as an overall program assistant, contributing in various administrative functions. For 2018, he will return to the field as a defensive assistant.
Caprara graduated from Pitt in 2015 with a degree in communication and is currently enrolled in the Katz Graduate School of Business.
As a Pitt player, Caprara was a four-year letterman who distinguished himself with a tenacious, yet cerebral, style of play. He collected nearly 90 tackles with 15.5 TFLs and 7.5 sacks as a starting outside linebacker his final two seasons. In the Panthers’ 42-39 win over rival Penn State in 2016, Caprara had two fumble recoveries that proved critical to the victory.
Away from the field, Caprara made numerous mission trips to Haiti and was recognized for his humanitarian service by being named to the 2016 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. He was also honored as a Senior of Distinction at the 2017 Pitt Athletics Senior Awards Dinner and additionally received the Service Award from Bishop David Zubik at the Catholic Charities 35th Annual Bishop’s Dinner.
A native of Turtle Creek, Caprara is a graduate of Woodland Hills High School. Starring under famed Wolverines head football coach George Novak, Caprara finished his prep career as the school’s all-time tackling leader with more than 350 stops.
