Javier King enters his second season at Pitt as a program graduate assistant. In this capacity, King serves in various administrative and operational functions for the Panthers.
Prior to Pitt, King was a special teams assistant at Georgia during the Bulldogs’ run to the 2021 national championship. Georgia finished with a 14-1 record, including a 33-18 triumph over Alabama in the College Football Playoff title game, clinching its first national championship since 1980.
King had the opportunity to work with Georgia punter Jake Camarda, a former SEC Special Teams Player of the Year who finished as UGA’s career leader with a 45.78 punting average. King’s additional experience at Georgia was a football operations internship in 2019.
In 2020, King was a special teams assistant at Troy University. The Trojans’ special teams earned a No. 7 national rating from Pro Football Focus that season. Punter Jack Martin was a first-team All-Sun Belt performer and also excelled as a kickoff specialist.
King also brings playing experience at the college level, having been a long snapper at Samford University over the 2017-19 seasons. He is a 2020 graduate of Samford with a bachelor’s degree in sport administration.
