In Greg Daniels, Pitt boasts one of the most creative and prolific video production professionals in all of college athletics. Chronicling some of the greatest players and moments in the history of Pitt sports, Daniels’ work has earned national praise and recognition.
His formal association with the Panthers dates back to 2015 when he was a freelance contributor. Daniels’ talents were enlisted on a full-time basis in 2017 and he currently serves as director of broadcast and video production with a focus on the football program.
Daniels’ enthusiasm for Pitt Athletics predates his professional tenure. A lifelong Panthers fan, he grew up going to football games at old Pitt Stadium, where he watched such legendary figures as Tony Dorsett, Hugh Green, Bill Fralic and Dan Marino.
His Pitt passion and knowledge are on full display in every video he produces, whether it’s for the Acrisure Stadium jumbotron or the Panthers’ various social media channels.
Daniels has twice earned the prestigious American Advertising Award at Pitt. His first “ADDY” was for his work on The Reveal, which unveiled Pitt’s new branding and NIKE uniforms in 2019. Daniels also was honored for his feature on Pitt wide receiver Tre Tipton’s triumphs over injury and adversity.
A special labor of love for Daniels is the annual Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame video series, which chronicles the accomplishments of the greatest performers to ever wear Blue and Gold.
Prior to Pitt, Daniels worked for nearly 30 years with New Perspective Communications, a Pittsburgh-based video production group. In that capacity, he collaborated with many Fortune 500 companies on video productions and advertising campaigns.
Daniels additionally has worked with the Pittsburgh Pirates’ in-game entertainment division since 1992.
He is a graduate of Clarion University with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
