Adam Caltury enters his seventh year on the Pitt football staff and serves as the program’s director of recruiting.
A Western Pennsylvania native, Caltury returned home in 2019 after spending the prior five seasons working in various recruiting capacities for Big Ten programs.
Caltury owns outstanding and diverse experience, including prospect evaluation, organization and planning of official visits as well as prospect communications and outreach.
His work proved vital in the Panthers’ recent Top 25 finishes, including the 2021 team that won 11 games, captured the ACC championship and ranked No. 13 in the final polls.
Moreover, Pitt has gained a well-earned national reputation for talent evaluation and development. From 2021-23, the Panthers had an ACC-best 14 players selected in the NFL Draft.
From 2016-18, Caltury was an integral part of the football staff at Rutgers, serving as director of player personnel (2018) and recruiting director (2016-17). Prior to his tenure with the Scarlet Knights, Caltury was a recruiting assistant at Ohio State (2014-15).
Before joining the college ranks, Caltury coached high school football in the WPIAL for six seasons. He was the quarterbacks and wide receivers coach at his alma mater, Monaca High School, for two seasons (2008-09). He then joined the staff at Central Valley (2010-13), where he worked with the receivers before being elevated to offensive coordinator.
While at Central Valley, Caltury coached future Pitt All-ACC safety Jordan Whitehead, who just completed his sixth NFL season in 2023.
Caltury is a 2008 graduate of Monaca High. He earned his bachelor’s degree in professional studies from Slippery Rock University in 2013.
