2022: Played in 12 games, making one start…starting assignment (the first of his career) came at defensive end in the Sun Bowl against UCLA…totaled eight tackles, an assisted tackle for loss and a pass breakup on the season…posted a career-high four stops against Rhode Island…had three tackles and a TFL assist against UCLA…earned Academic All-District honors...selected to the All-ACC Academic Football Team.

2021: A walk-on his initial three years, Maloney was awarded a scholarship prior to the 2021 season…played in 13 games, serving on special teams and as a reserve defensive end…totaled three tackles and a sack assist on the year…had a season-high two stops at Duke…had a sack assist at Syracuse…honored as a Military Bowl 3M Scholar-Athlete.

2020: Played in three games (Austin Peay, Louisville and Georgia Tech).

2019: Lone appearance of the season came at Georgia Tech on special teams.

2018: Joined Pitt as a training camp walk-on…did not play in any games and redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Decorated offensive and defensive lineman at La Salle College, where he started three years under Coach John Steinmetz…three-time first team All-Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL)…three-time All-Southeastern Pennsylvania…Penn Preps All-State Class 6A…also a track and field letterman.

PERSONAL: Christopher John Maloney, born 4/24/00, is the son of Brian and Christine Maloney…has two brothers and one sister…earned his bachelor’s degree in health and physical activity and is now pursuing graduate studies in Pitt’s School of Education.
