2016-17 (157): Finished with a team-high 25 wins … Suffered just eight losses … Pinned a team-high 10 opponents, good for top 10 in program history … Went 2-2 at the NCAA Championships … At NCAA’s, fell in his first match in a 9-1 major decision to No. 6 Dylan Palacio of Cornell … Picked up back-to-back wins over Andrew Atkinson (UVA) in an 18-7 major decision and Josh Shields (ASU) … Was knocked out of the tournament by Archie Colgan of Wyoming in a 6-2 decision … Went 3-0 at the ACC Championship en route to his first title … Downed AJ Rechenmacher of North Carolina 10-2, followed by Thomas Bullard of NC State in a 4-2 decision and upset the No. 1 seed Sal Mastriani of Virginia Tech in a 13-5 major decision … Pinned Duke’s Jake Faust in 2:34 in the regular season finale … Outlasted Andrew Atkinson of Virginia in sudden victory, 10-8 … Pinned Iowa State’s Colson DiBlasi in 5:24 … Placed third at the Keystone Classic after finishing 5-1 … Captured the 157-pound title at the Ohio Intercollegiate Open to open the season after going 4-0.
