Panthers Dominate in Quad Meet Sweep

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt Gymnastics team (4-9, 0-6 ACC) won Friday night's quad meet at the Fitzgerald Field House with a season-high 196.300 team score. Nine routines either matched or set career highs, including a personal-best 9.925 from Emily Todd on floor. Ball State finished second with a 195.750, followed by Towson (195.025) and Temple (191.975).
Vault
Three freshmen paced the Panthers on vault. Layla Bobek and Lailah Green each recorded career-high 9.825s, while Makenzie Grant matched the mark to tie her personal best. Kennedy Duke added a 9.750.
Bars
Pitt posted a season-high 49.200 on bars. Hallie Copperwheat delivered a near-flawless routine for a 9.925, and senior Jaime Pratt scored a 9.900 for the second consecutive meet. Meika Lee set a career high with a 9.800, Camryn Chiu matched the score, Duke contributed a 9.775 and Todd added a 9.750.
Beam
Copperwheat and Chiu continued their strong performances with 9.850s. Bobek scored a 9.800, and Mali Morgan added a 9.775.
Floor
The Panthers set a season-high 49.350 on floor, three-tenths higher than their previous best against Texas Woman's University in the season opener. Todd led the lineup with a 9.925, and freshman Madi Bell posted a career-high 9.900. Morgan recorded a personal-best 9.850, and Lee matched the mark. Olivia Giunta earned a career-high 9.825, while Copperwheat matched that score to round out her impressive meet.
