Shannon, Koch Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH - Swimming's Kimmy Shannon and Julian Koch were named Pitt's PNC Achievers of the Week following standout performances in the Panthers' sweep of Villanova.

Shannon recorded a pair of first-place finishes, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle before setting a program and pool record in the 400 individual medley. Her time of 4:06.10 ranks 14th nationally this season.

Koch earned four first-place finishes on Senior Day, highlighted by a pool-record performance in the men's 400 medley relay, which touched in 3:07.85. He also captured individual victories in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly and swam a leg on the winning 200 freestyle relay. The sophomore also currently owns the fourth-fastest time in the NCAA in the 100 freestyle (41.15).
