PITTSBURGH – Linebacker Kyle Louis has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2025 Lombardi Award, presented annually to the college football player who best embodies the values and spirit of legendary coach Vince Lombardi.
The award, presented by the Rotary Club of Houston, recognizes the lineman or linebacker who demonstrates excellence in performance, leadership, character, and resilience—qualities synonymous with Lombardi's legacy.
Louis, a redshirt junior, enters the 2025 season as one of the most decorated defenders in the nation. A 2024 First Team All-American, he posted 101 tackles last year, along with team highs of 15.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and four interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He also delivered a rare defensive two-point conversion by returning a blocked extra point.
In addition to the Lombardi Award, Louis is featured on multiple national watch lists this preseason, including the Butkus Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Walter Camp Player of the Year, and Chuck Bednarik Award.
The Lombardi Award will announce its winner in December.
