Pitt Football Announces Remaining 2025 Home Game Themes

PITTSBURGH—Promotional dates and themes for Pitt's seven home games at Acrisure Stadium have been finalized, with five exciting new additions to the Panthers' highly anticipated 2025 campaign.
Fans can look forward to a variety of unique game day experiences this fall, featuring the return of Pitt legends, celebrations of service, and tributes to the program's storied history:
Sept. 27 vs. Louisville – Hall of Fame / Extra Yard for Teachers
Pitt will honor its newest enshrined legends with the annual Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony, highlighted by the special return of football icon Aaron Donald to Acrisure Stadium. The game will also recognize educators through Extra Yard for Teachers, the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation's nationwide initiative celebrating the impact of teachers in our communities.
Oct. 4 vs. Boston College – Hail to Heroes / Family Weekend
This game features a dual celebration: Hail to Heroes, recognizing military members, veterans, first responders, and public servants; and Family Weekend, welcoming Pitt families to campus for a memorable game day experience.
Oct. 25 vs. NC State – Homecoming
Pitt's annual Homecoming game will bring alumni back to the Steel City for a weekend of festivities, capped by a pivotal ACC showdown against the Wolfpack.
Nov. 15 vs. Notre Dame – Legacy Game
Pitt will host its first-ever Legacy Game against the Fighting Irish, celebrating the rich tradition and iconic moments of Panther Football. The day will include a special tribute to Tony Dorsett's legendary 303-yard rushing performance against Notre Dame in 1975, which marks its 50th anniversary this year. Throughout the game, Pitt will honor greats from the past and the milestones that have defined the program.
Nov. 29 vs. Miami – Senior Day
The Panthers will close out the regular season with Senior Day, honoring the 2025 senior class for their leadership, dedication, and impact on the program.
Pitt previously announced Pittsburgh Day (Aug. 30 vs. Duquesne) and Kids Day (Sept. 6 vs. Central Michigan) as part of the 2025 promotional schedule.
