Path to the Quarterfinals (Year-by-Year)
2024
After earning a first-round bye, Pitt defeated Cornell in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and edged past Kansas City, 3–2, in overtime to reach the national quarterfinals.
2022
The Panthers reached the College Cup for the second time in program history in 2022. They defeated Cleveland State, Akron, top-seeded Kentucky and Portland en route to the national semifinals.
2021
In 2021, Pitt advanced to the quarterfinals after victories over Northern Illinois and Hofstra. The Panthers' season ended in a scoreless draw against Notre Dame, with the Fighting Irish prevailing in a penalty shootout
2020
Pitt's historic breakthrough came in 2020, when the team reached the College Cup for the first time in program history. The season, delayed to spring 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, saw the Panthers defeat Monmouth, UCF and Washington en route to the semifinals.
