PITTSBURGH -Three members of the 2025 Pitt Lacrosse team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Team Tuesday afternoon. Defenders Gracie Kahoun, Megan Sheridan and Abby Thorne are the first three in program history to earn the impressive accolade.
Kahoun is a rising senior and has started 32 straight games between the last two seasons. The defender from Roanoke, Virginia has racked up 16 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers while seeing action in 37 career contests.
Sheridan has been in Oakland for two seasons and started all 34 games in that time. She has already found her way into the Panther record books, sitting in a tie for sixth all-time in ground balls (51) and fourth in caused turnovers (47). As a freshman in 2024, Sheridan set a new single-season record for caused turnovers in a season (24) and followed that up this past year with 23 CTs.
Thorne closed the book in 2025 on an incredible career in the blue and gold. The defender from South Australia played in and started 68 career games and is first all-time for ground balls (92) and caused turnovers (54).
