PITTSBURGH — Redshirt junior LB Kyle Louis has been named one of college football's Top 20 Impact Players for the 2025 season by Sports Illustrated.
A standout from East Orange, N.J., Louis has garnered well-deserved national attention this offseason. He recorded 101 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, and four interceptions last season—including a 59-yard pick-six against Syracuse. His performance in 2024 earned him First-Team All-American honors from The Sporting News, making him the 100th Panther to receive that distinction and the first sophomore defensive player to do so since Hugh Green in 1978.
In addition to his All-American recognition, Louis was named First-Team All-ACC and finished third in the ACC Defensive Player of the Year voting. According to SI, his versatility is virtually unmatched—he's blocked kicks, returned interceptions for touchdowns, rushed the passer, and consistently posted double-digit tackle games.
Off the field, Louis's commitment to excellence has set a standard for his teammates, playing a key role in cultivating a culture of accountability and hard work within the program. As the Panthers look ahead to 2025, his leadership and playmaking ability will be crucial as Pitt pursues success in the ACC and beyond.
Louis and the Panthers will host seven home games this fall, including four ACC matchups and a marquee showdown with last year's College Football Playoff runner-up, Notre Dame, on Nov. 15.
Pitt football season tickets start at just $230 for all seven home games in 2025. For more information, visit PittsburghPanthers.com, call (800) 643-7488, or email tickets@athletics.pitt.edu.
