PITTSBURGH—Pitt's storied history of sending players to the National Football League continued this weekend during the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Panthers had three players selected during the three-day draft in Green Bay, Wisc., while several others signed undrafted rookie free agent contracts following the conclusion of the event.
OL Branson Taylor (sixth round, 199th overall) went to the Los Angeles Chargers, while TE Gavin Bartholomew (sixth round, 202nd overall) was taken by the Minnesota Vikings and WR Konata Mumpfield(seventh round, 242nd overall) was picked by the Los Angeles Rams.
Taylor proved himself to be one of the program's premier offensive linemen in recent history, starting 21 career games between the left and right tackle spots. He was selected as a team captain last year and started the initial six games of the year before sustaining a season-ending knee injury. He concluded his career with 45 games played.
Bartholomew, a team captain, played in 49 career games at Pitt, the most games played by tight end in program history. He finished his career with 1,257 receiving yards on 104 catches with 11 touchdowns. His 104 catches are the most by a Panthers tight end, while his receiving yards total is the second highest in the same category and his 11 receiving scores rank fourth.
Mumpfield finished his Pitt career with 154 receptions for 1,940 yards and 11 touchdowns. Despite only playing three seasons at Pitt, he posted the ninth-most catches by a Pitt receiver in history. He was named a team captain in 2024.
Entering the weekend with 300 all-time selections, the Panthers now own 303 draft picks, placing them among the top 20 programs in college football history.
In total, head coach Pat Narduzzi has produced 31 NFL Draft selections at Pitt, the second most in the ACC during that span.
