
Panthers Return Home, Host Mercyhurst Wednesday

PITTSBURGH - Pitt returns to Charles L. Cost Field this Wednesday for the first time since April 6.
The Panthers will play Mercyhurst for the first time since 1993. Mercyhurst recently made the jump from Division-II to Division-I this past offseason.
Notes
• INF Caden Dulin had the first multiple-home run game of his career in Saturday's series finale at Duke. Dulin slugged a three-run homer in the third inning and a solo home run in the fifth.
• First baseman Luke Cantwell has recorded a hit in 23 out of Pitt's last 28 games. There have been seven games this season where he has been held hitless. Cantwell is hitting .364 with 51 hits, 30 RBI, 17 doubles and a triple this year. He is 12th in the country in doubles.
• This season, Pitt has six comeback victories when trailing in the fifth inning or later. The Panthers came back in the eighth inning to win game one of their doubleheader at Boston College three weeks ago.
• Sophomore third baseman Ryan Zuckerman homered in game two of Pitt's series at Duke this past weekend. Zuckerman is hitting .320 and leading the team in home runs (10), RBIs (37) runs scored (34) and slugging percentage (.607). He is second in hits (48) and doubles (13).
• Senior David Pedanou has patrolled the outfield all season for the Panthers. He has 59 putouts with one outfield assist and has yet to record an error this year. Pedanou has made 27 starts in his 29 games played.
• LHP Ethan Firoved ranks second in the ACC in saves with six. In fifteen appearances this year, Firoved has a 3.35 ERA with one win and 50 strikeouts.
• The Panthers' offense ranks fifth in the ACC in hit by pitches and eighth in walks.
