CLEMSON, SC – Pitt Lacrosse closed out the 2025 regular season with a conference loss to No. 17 Clemson by a score of 14-6.
The Panthers were unable to match the Tigers' offensive onslaught in the first half, as Clemson outscored the visitors 12-2 in the opening 30 minutes. Pitt's leading goal scoer Jenna Hendrickson scored her 45th of the year in the first quarter and Avery Moon added her 24th in the second. The Panthers had chances in the opening half of play, only losing the draw control battle 9-7, but committed too many turnovers to keep the score tight.
The defense settled in after the halftime break and held the hosts to only two goals in the final 30 minutes of action. The Panthers matched the Tigers' only third period goal thanks to Emily Coughlin's 12th in 2025. In the last quarter, the visitors from Pennsylvania outscored Clemson 3-1 with tallies by Jill Fenech (10th), Hendrickson (46th) and Moon (25th). Molly Cain put together a strong second half after a difficult first, making eight saves after the intermission.
Fenech, as she has many times in her career, put together a stat-stuffing performance with one goal, three ground balls and six draw controls. With those six pick ups and six from the rest of the team, Pitt secured 12 draw controls to Clemson's 11. Cain totaled 11 saves on the day, her eighth game of the season with double digit stops. Hendrickson finishes her time in a Pitt uniform with 97 goals, good for first all-time in the record books and 46 this season, extending her Panther record.
The eight regular season wins are the most by Pitt since 2022, when the Panthers finished the year 9-10 in their inaugural season. The two ACC wins are the most by the fourth year program.
