The pair of Panthers are predicted to be two of the best at their respective positions in 2025
PITTSBURGH—RB Desmond Reid and LB Kyle Louis were each named first-team selections on the Athlon Sports 'Way-Too-Early All-America Team for 2025.'
Few had a bigger all-around impact in college football last season than running back Desmond Reid, who was selected first-team all-purpose by Athlon. The Miami Gardens, Fla. native finished last year with 966 rushing yards, 579 receiving yards and 159 punt return yards, along with 10 total touchdowns. He was recognized as an All-American by no fewer than six outlets, including Associated Press, CBS Sports, ESPN, Football Writers Association of America, Phil Steele and The Athletic.
Arguably the most versatile linebacker in the country, Kyle Louis is projected to be a first-team linebacker by Athlon. Last season, Louis became the first sophomore defensive player at Pitt to earn First Team All-America since the legendary Hugh Green in 1978. A product of East Orange, N.J., he totaled 101 tackles, four interceptions, a forced fumble, 15.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, 27 pressures and nine QB hurries—a stat line that has only been recorded one other time in college football over the last decade.
The Panthers will host seven games this fall, including four conference opponents and last year's CFP runner-up, Notre Dame, on Nov. 15.
Pitt football season tickets start as low as $230 for seven games in 2025. For more information, go to PittsburghPanthers.com, call (800) 643-7488 or email tickets@athletics.pitt.edu.
