PITTSBURGH – Pitt men's soccer head coach Jay Vidovich announced the Panthers' 2025 spring schedule on Wednesday afternoon, with six games scheduled from February to April, including four in Pittsburgh.
The Panthers will open spring play this Friday, Feb. 21 at Ambrose Urbanic Field as they take on local United Soccer League opponent – Pittsburgh Riverhounds at 6:00 pm. The match will serve as a preseason contest for the Riverhounds and admission to the game is free.
The Panthers will then welcome West Virginia to Ambrose Urbanic Field on Friday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. Just nine days later, Pitt hosts ACC foe Duke on Sunday, March 23 at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 12:30 p.m.
Pitt hits the road for the first time in the spring on Sunday, March 30 as it travels to College Park, Md. to battle Maryland at 1:00 p.m. The Panthers then return to Pittsburgh for the final home contest of the spring, taking on the Vaughn Soccer Club (Canada) at Ambrose Urbanic Field on Friday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m.
The Panthers will conclude their spring slate at the Spring Soccer Cup final in Winston-Salem on Sunday, April 13. At the end of the three league matches (West Virginia, Duke and Maryland), the finals matches at Spry Stadium will be determined with the 10 programs being seeded. Shuffling amongst the seeds can be done if a repeat opponent is scheduled.
Pitt is coming off another historic season where it reached the national quarterfinals for the fourth time in the last five years. The Panthers earned the No. 2 overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament after being the lone team nationally to record six or more Quad 1 wins (6-2) in the regular season. Additionally, Pitt went undefeated against nationally ranked opponents (5-0) in the regular season, while outscoring them by an 11-2 margin.
All four spring matches being played in Pittsburgh, either at Ambrose Urbanic Field or Highmark Stadium, will be free admission to the public.
