Dunning's 23 points were a game high and came on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range, as Pitt improved to 6-6 on the season. The Panthers broke open a close game with a 26-3 run late in the first half and coasted to their first win since defeating Ohio State on Nov. 28.

The victory was Pitt's 52nd when scoring 80 or more points under head coach Jeff Capel. The Panthers are now 52-2 in such games under Capel, with both losses coming away from home. It was the first time Pitt reached 100 in a game since a 110-78 victory over Sam Houston on Dec. 21, 2024. The Panthers improved to 47-0 all-time when reaching the century mark.
