PITTSBURGH – Women's basketball's Mikayla Johnson and football's Rasheem Biles have been named Pitt's PNC Achievers of the Week for their standout performances over the past week.
Johnson helped the Pitt women's basketball team to a 2-0 record on the week, with wins over Le Moyne and Robert Morris. Johnson averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2 assists over the course of the two games. Most notably, the redshirt junior spurred Pitt's comeback win against Robert Morris. A native of Anchorage, Ak., Johnson scored 17 points in the second half, with 12 alone in the third quarter, which gave Pitt their first lead of the game, which they would never relinquish.
Biles tallied 15 tackles and one tackle for loss in Pitt's road win at No. 16 Georgia Tech on Saturday night. It's the second time this season that the junior has combined for 15 tackles in a game, tying a career high. His nine solo tackles were also a career high. Biles and the Panthers handed Georgia Tech their first home loss since 2023, snapping their streak of 10 wins at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Despite missing three games, Biles leads the team in tackles (77) and tackles for loss (11.5) and has returned both of his interceptions for touchdowns. Pitt returns to Acrisure Stadium this Saturday, November 29, to host No. 13 Miami as they seek a berth in the ACC Championship Game on Senior Day.
