Pitt Wrestling Inks Four to National Letters of Intent

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt wrestling program has signed Karson Brown, Caleb Rodriguez, Kyle Scott, and Santino Sloboda to National Letters of Intent, head coach Keith Gavin announced Wednesday.
Brown, a three-time Ohio state champion from St. Edward High School, finished his junior season with a 38-2 record and stayed unbeaten in the post season to win his third-consecutive state championship. He was named the 2024-25 Cleveland.com Boys Wrestler of the Year and became the ninth wrestler from St. Edward to win three state titles. Brown finished his freshman year with a 42-6 record and followed with a 37-4 mark as a sophomore. He is ranked No. 59 overall by MatScouts and currently ranked No. 11 nationally at 132 pounds by FloWrestling. He will join his brother, Kade Brown, who is having a strong redshirt-freshman season with the Panthers.
Rodriguez, a standout from Bishop McCort, finished with a 35-11 record and placed third at heavyweight in the PIAA Class 2A Championships. He was a District 6 runner-up and finished fourth at the Southwest Regional.
Scott is a standout wrestler from Tyrone High School. He owns a 117-26 record and went 42-5 in 2024-25 season. Scott placed fourth at 189 pounds in the PIAA Class 2A Championships and was the runner-up at both the District 6 Tournament and the Southwest Regional. He is ranked No. 96 overall by MatScouts and is currently ranked No. 4 at 175 pounds by FloWresting.
Sloboda is a standout from Butler High School. He holds a 128-7 career record and finished third at the PIAA 3A Championships. He finished his junior season with a 50-1 record, 17 falls, 16 technical fall, and three major decisions.
