PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh football program extends its deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of Bob Taylor, a proud Panther and member of the Pitt football team from 1963–66, who passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 80.
A native of Sewickley, Taylor was a standout lineman for the Panthers and earned All–Midwestern Athletic Conference honors during his collegiate career. Following his time at Pitt, he remained deeply connected to the University and the Pittsburgh community.
Taylor earned both his undergraduate degree (Class of 1967) and law degree (Class of 1970) from the University of Pittsburgh. He went on to a distinguished legal career as the sole proprietor of the Taylor Law Office while also working at his family's business, the Taylor Dairy.
In recognition of his athletic and professional accomplishments, Taylor was inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame in 1992, and his dedication to service extended beyond the football field and courtroom. He was an active member of numerous community organizations, including the Beaver County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, the Old Economy Village Board of Directors, the Ambridge Tip-Off Club, the Baden Lions Club, and the Sewickley YMCA, where he contributed for more than 40 years.
Taylor is survived by his wife, Marilyn Miller Taylor, and their five children: Robert M. (Karen), Jennifer, Michelle (Kristopher Evanto), Emily (James Neese) and Rachel, as well as ten grandchildren and a large extended family.
