Riding a three-game win streak, Pitt (5-2, 3-1 ACC) returns to Acrisure Stadium for Homecoming against NC State (4-3, 1-2) in a key ACC matchup. The Panthers have won both previous home meetings with the Wolfpack (2017, 2020) and look to build momentum before back-to-back November road trips.
Pitt’s defense set the tone in a 30-13 win at Syracuse, forcing three interceptions and holding the Orange to 212 total yards. Nick Lapi starred in his first start with seven tackles, 2.0 TFL and a sack, while Tamon Lynum, Cruce Brookins and Kavir Bains-Marquez each came up with takeaways.
Special teams flipped the game when Kenny Johnson returned a punt 66 yards for a touchdown just before halftime—the only punt-return TD in ACC play this season. Mason Heintschel added a 36-yard rushing score and Trey Butkowski went 3-for-3 on field goals. The Panthers aim to keep their ACC surge going in front of a Homecoming crowd.

Panther Club staff & Pitt Spirit Squad members will be prowling the parking lots 3 hours prior to kick-off to award the "Tailgate of the Game" presented by Pennsylvania Lottery. The winner will receive a PA Lottery & Pitt Swag Bag and get their picture on the videoboard!
