Champagnie Selected to NBA G League Up Next Game

PITTSBURGH – Washington Wizards two-way guard-forward and former Pitt standout Justin Champagnie is one of 10 players selected by fan vote to participate in the 2025 NBA G League Up Next Game presented by AT&T during NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco. The NBA G League Up Next Game presented by AT&T will be played at NBA Crossover in the Moscone Center on Feb. 16 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Champagnie, No. 2 overall in the fan vote, averaged 20.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals in eight games played (all starts) with the Capital City Go-Go during the G League tip-off tournament. His 2.4 blocks per game ranked ninth in the G League tip-off tournament. The 2021 First Team All-ACC selection has also appeared in 27 games (13 starts) with the Wizards and is averaging NBA career-highs of 8.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game.
Champagnie posted a career-high 31 points on 13-of-15 shooting from the field, including 5-of-6 from three-point range, against the New York Knicks on Dec. 28. He also had a 23-point, eight-rebound effort in a win over Denver (12/7) as well as a double-double (13 points, 14 rebounds) against the defending NBA champions Boston Celtics (12/15).
Twenty-eight total players, including the 10 NBA G League players selected via fan vote, will compete in the Up Next Game presented by AT&T.
The game will consist of a tournament-style format with four teams of seven players, drafted by influencer general managers and led by NBA G League coaches. Two semifinal games will be played to a score of 30 points, and the winning teams will face off in a Championship game to determine an overall winner. The 2025 NBA G League Up Next Game pool includes 28 total players that will be split into four teams of seven. This includes ten players selected by Fan Voting (Yuki Kawamura of the Memphis Hustle, Justin Champagnie of the Capital City Go-Go, Jahlil Okafor of the Indiana Mad Ants, Adama Sanogo of the Windy City Bulls, Skal Labissiere of the Stockton Kings, Kevon Harris of the College Park Skyhawks, Maozinha Pereira of the Memphis Hustle, Trevelin Queen of the Osceola Magic, Armando Bacot of the Memphis Hustle, and Keisei Tominaga of the Indiana Mad Ants).
The NBA G League selected 17 additional players based on their performance this season (Moses Brown of the Westchester Knicks, Josh Christopher of the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Jeff Dowtin Jr. of the Delaware Blue Coats, PJ Hall of the Grand Rapids Gold, Elijah Harkless of the Salt Lake City Stars, Isaac Jones of the Stockton Kings, A.J. Lawson of Raptors 905, Isaiah Miller of the Austin Spurs, Jaylen Nowell of the Capital City Go-Go, Dink Pate of the Mexico City Capitanes, Daeqwon Plowden of the College Park Skyhawks, Quinten Post of the Santa Cruz Warriors, Lester Quinones of the Birmingham Squadron, DJ Steward of the Memphis Hustle, TyTy Washington Jr. of the Valley Suns, and Jahmir Young of the Grand Rapids Gold.
The two additional spots left to round out the player pool will be announced at a later date.
