
Cesarone Takes Vault, Bedminster and Ewing Share Floor Title against Stanford

PITTSBURGH – Elizabeth Cesarone scored a season-high and meet best 9.875 to win her third straight vault event of the season against No. 15 Stanford Sunday evening. Jah'Liyah Bedminster and Jordyn Ewing tied for a share of the floor title with a 9.875, but the Panthers fell to No. 15 Stanford (194.550-196.175).
Pitt impressed once again on floor and finished with a 49.000 score. Four Panthers recorded at least a 9.750 and currently sit at 3-2 overall and 0-2 in ACC play.
Vault
Elizabeth Cesarone (9.875) and Jah'Liyah Bedminster (9.850) posted season-highs on the evening, while Olivia Giunta notched a career-high 9.775 to propel Pitt to a hot start with a 48.925 vault score. Cesarone ended the meet as the vault winner for the third straight meet.
Bars
Hallie Copperwheat scored a season-high 9.825 while Bedminster recorded a 9.750. Camryn Chiu and Jaime Pratt each notched 9.700's to lead the Panthers to a 48.625 bars score.
Beam
Copperwheat anchored the Panthers with a 9.825 on beam, and sophomore Emily Todd tied her season high with a 9.775.
Floor
Jordyn Ewing and Bedminster continued their excellent floor work with a meet best 9.875 while freshman Meika Lee recorded a career-high 9.825 to capture an efficient 49.000 floor score.
UP NEXT
Pitt heads south next week to take on No. 24 Clemson on Friday Jan. 31 at Littlejohn Coliseum for another ACC contest.
