
Kelly Layton Named Pitt Lacrosse Assistant Coach

PITTSBURGH – Pitt Lacrosse Head Coach Emily Boissonneault has added Kelly Layton to the coaching staff as an assistant coach, as announced Thursday afternoon.
"We are thrilled to add Kelly to our staff," said Boissonneault. "When I met Kelly, I was overwhelmed by her enthusiasm and passion for coaching. She is truly invested in the relationships of her athletes and the student-athlete experience."
"I am beyond excited to be able to work with Pitt lacrosse," Layton said. "I am so grateful to be able to coach with such a great group of girls and talented staff. I cannot wait to get started and compete in the best lacrosse conference in the country."
Layton arrives in Pittsburgh after spending two years at St. Bonavenutre as an assistant coach. During the 2023 season, Layton helped coach the squad to their first Atlantic 10 Tournament appearance since 2007. Before her time with the Bonnies, Layton spent one season with George Washington University, serving as an assistant coach and helping with the day-to-day plans and developments of players on a squad that made the Atlantic 10 Tournament for the first time in 13 years. She also served as the lacrosse coach for the Potomac School as well as a goalie coach for the Next Level lacrosse Club.
Prior to coaching, Layton was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program at Millersville University. She is also a member of Israeli Women's National Team and started each of the eight games during the 2022 World Lacrosse World Championships. She also compted in The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama. Layton earned her undergraduate degree in Public Relations and Organizational Communication as well as a Masters in Sport Management from Millersville and is originally from Ashton, Maryland.
