PITTSBURGH – The Pitt lacrosse team was named a 2024 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the second consecutive year and three Panthers: Maureen McNierney, Audrey Moran and Abby Thorne were named to the Division I Honor Roll, announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Wednesday afternoon.
Two of the three Panthers, McNierney and Thorne, named to the squad are members of the "original 14," the 14 student-athletes who joined Pitt for "Year 0." Those two have one season remaining in the blue and gold, while grad transfer Moran played her lone season for Pitt this past spring. McNierney is studying Biological Sciences, Moran is studying Behavioral and Community Health Sciences and Thorne is earning a degree in Psychology. McNierney and Thorne earned the IWLCA honor last year as well.
