Carrington Named All-NBA Summer League Second Team

PITTSBURGH – Carlton Carrington, a 2024 NBA Lottery Pick by the Washington Wizards following his freshman season at Pitt, was named All-NBA Summer League Second Team after averaging 15.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game over five games at the 2K25 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
The Baltimore, Md., native led the Wizards to a 3-2 record, while making 14 three-point field goals and shooting 36 percent from beyond the arc. Carrington showcased his complete game throughout the summer league with four double-figure scoring efforts, including a 13-point, 15-rebound effort in a 91-79 win over Milwaukee to cap off the summer league experience.
Carrington made an immediate impression at the NBA 2K25 Summer League with 18 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists in his debut. He knocked down four three-pointers to lead the Wizards to a 94-88 win over Atlanta.
The 6-5 guard scored his summer league-high 20 points to go along with four rebounds and five assists in a narrow 82-80 loss to Portland. Carrington knocked down four threes and finished with 18 points, four rebounds, and five assists against Houston.
Carrington was the only freshman in the NCAA to average at least 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game this past season, while helping lead the Panthers to a 22-11 record overall and a fourth-place finish in the ACC. He finished his first year at Pitt averaging 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, while making 65 three-point field goals. Carrington scored in double figures 23 times, including five games with 20 or more points scored. He opened his career with a triple-double (18 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists) against NC A&T and closed the season with a 24-point effort against No. 4 North Carolina in the ACC Tournament Semifinals.
