PITTSBURGH – Zoo Crew, the Pitt alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament's (TBT) regional at the Petersen Events Center from July 20-24, today announced the roster addition of former Panther Lamar Patterson.
Patterson joins former Pitt stars Jamel Artis, and Nike Sibande as commitments on Zoo Crew's roster. Jamarius Burton was also committed to playing this summer, but his status is now questionable following a recent injury setback.
Patterson played for the Panthers from 2009-2014 finishing his career playing in 149 games (106 starts). As a redshirt freshman, Patterson helped the Panthers win a Big East regular season title. As a redshirt sophomore, Patterson led the Panthers to a College Basketball Invitational title, averaging 13.3 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.5 assist per game on his way to being named tournament MVP. His senior season, he averaged 17.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game and was named Second Team All-ACC in Pitt's first year in the conference.
After graduating from Pitt, Patterson was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks as the 48th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He made his NBA debut for the Atlanta Hawks in October of 2015. After appearing in 40 games for the Hawks from 2015-2017, Patterson has played in multiple leagues across Europe and Asia. He most recently played for the South West Metro Pirates in Australia.
Zoo Crew will be joined in the Pittsburgh Regional this summer alongside Stars of Storrs (UConn Alumni), Happy Valley Hoopers (Penn State Alumni), Best Virginia (West Virginia Alumni), and four other teams, all vying for TBT's $1 million grand prize.
Tickets for the 2024 Pittsburgh Regional are currently on sale at www.thetournament.com/tbt/tickets.
