Cummings Named Post-Gazette Co-Player of the Year

PITTSBURGH – For the second consecutive season, Pitt commit Brandin Cummings has been named Pittsburgh Post Gazette Co-Player of the Year and to the publications' Fab 5 team.
Cummings, the younger brother of 2023 Pitt standout Nelly Cummings, helped lead Lincoln Park to a 28-3 season that included WPIAL and PIAA titles for the second consecutive season. The 6-4 guard averaged 23.9 points and 2.5 steals a game, while making 85 three-point field goals. Cummings scored 37 points on 14-of-18 shooting from the field in state championship game against Archbishop Carroll. He made seven three-point field goals in the game and a WPIAL player record with 37 points in the title game.
Cummings finished his career at Lincoln Park ranked 21st in WPIAL history 2,224 career points and also made 271 career three-pointers.
He will join a Pitt backcourt in the fall that currently features rising sophomore Jaland Lowe and reigning ACC Sixth Man of the Year Ishmael Leggett. Lowe averaged 12.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game in ACC play a year ago, while Leggett delivered 12.3 points per game and led the team in rebounding (5.5 rpg.), steals (41), and free throw percentage (.859).
