PITTSBURGH – Pitt landed a highly-coveted post player with the addition of Florida State transfer Cam Corhen. The 6-10, 225-pound forward with two seasons of eligibility remaining totaled 528 points and 223 rebounds, while shooting 58.7 percent (210-of-358) from the field and 73.5 percent (100-of-136) from the foul line in 60 games (33 starts) with the Seminoles.
"Cam is an explosive athlete with the versatility to face up in the post or play with his back to the basket," said head coach Jeff Capel. "He showed his ability to put the ball in the basket against us back in March and we believe he will be a great fit in our system and our culture. He will have an opportunity to make an impact on both ends of the floor with a terrific combination of length, strength, and athleticism."
Last season, Corhen averaged 9.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in just 21.5 minutes per game. He shot 62.9 percent (110-of-175) from the field and 67.2 percent (43-of-64) from the foul line in 28 contests (12 starts). He scored in double figures 14 times with a career-best effort coming March 5 at the Petersen Events Center. Corhen scored 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field and 9-of-10 from the foul line, while adding eight rebounds, one block, and a steal in an 88-73 win by the Panthers.
He had a career-high 12 rebounds against Georgia Tech in 2023 and grabbed seven or more rebounds in nine games at Florida State. Corhen averaged 8.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in just under 23 minutes per game in two seasons at Florida State.
A four-star prospect out of high school (Sunrise Christian), Corhen was ranked as the No. 94 overall player in the class of 2022. He was also a top 125 player in the 2024 NCAA transfer portal.
Corhen joins a Pitt post rotation that features rising junior Guillermo Diaz Graham (6.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg., 32 3FG), redshirt freshman Papa Amadou Kante, and incoming freshman Amdy Ndiaye.
