
Two Panthers Participate in NCAA Indoor Championships

BOSTON, MA – Foluke Olujide-Ajibade and Lydia Bottelier represented the University of Pittsburgh Track and Field program well at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the TRACK at new balance in Boston, Mass.
Foluke Olujide-Ajibade competed in the women's weight throw on Thursday night, placing 15th with a mark of 20.50m. The Dublin, Ohio native concludes her senior indoor season as the school record holder in the weight throw with her program best mark of 21.67m. Olujide-Ajibade set this mark en route to silver at the 2024 ACC Indoor Championships, also held at the TRACK at new balance.
Lydia Bottelier's prowess in the pentathlon began Friday morning with the 60m hurdles. The graduate student began the day with a personal best, crossing the finish line in 8.77 in the first of five events. In the high jump, Bottelier jumped 1.75m, good for eighth place in the second scheduled event. The Erwinna, Pa. native secured an 11.16m mark in the shot put and a mark of 5.56m in the long jump. The pentathlete closed out the final indoor meet of her collegiate career with a time of 2:21.58 in the 800m race to finish in 13th place overall with 4000 total points. This season, Bottelier solidified herself as one of the Panther greats, recording the second-best pentathlon score in program history, registering 4150 points at the Penn State National Open on January 26.
Olujide-Ajibade, Bottelier and the Panthers transition to the outdoor season next week when they travel to Tampa, Fla. for the USF Alumni Invitational March 15-16.
