PITTSBURGH -- Zoo Crew, the University of Pittsburgh alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament's (TBT) regional at Petersen Events Center July 19-24, today announced the roster addition of former Panther Nike Sibande.
Sibande now joins former teammate Jamarius Burton and Jamel Artis as the first three player commitments on Zoo Crew's roster.
Sibande, a transfer from Miami (OH), played at Pittsburgh from 2021-23. Alongside Burton, Sibande was an important piece on the Panthers 2023 NCAA Tournament team that defeated Mississippi State in the First Four and upset Iowa State in the first round.
The Indianapolis native earned ACC Sixth Man of the Year honors as a senior in 2023, averaging 8.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Upon graduating from Pitt, Sibande spent the 2024 NBA Summer League with the Dallas Mavericks, appearing in two games. He currently plays for Merkezefendi Belediyesi Denizli Basket in Turkey.
Additional roster announcements will be made over the coming months via Zoo Crew's social media pages, @ZooCrewTBT.
Zoo Crew will be joined in the Pittsburgh Regional this summer alongside seven other teams, all vying for TBT's $1 million grand prize.
