PITTSBURGH – Pitt returns to the Petersen Events Center to host Florida State Tuesday, March 5. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. with Anish Shroff and Tom Crean calling the action on ESPN2. Crean was the associate head coach at Pitt during the 1994-95 season.
THE OPENING TIP
- The Panthers enter Tuesday’s contest tied for fifth in the ACC with a 10-8 league record. Pitt has won nine of its past 12 ACC games with five road wins in that span.
- Pitt leads the ACC in three-point field goals (9.66 3pg.) and has made 10 or more threes in a game 14 times, including eight times in ACC play.
- The Panthers have committed 10 or fewer turnovers in seven consecutive games and are averaging just 6.9 turnovers per game in that span.
- Carlton Carrington averaged 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game, while going 11-of-16 (.688) from three-point range, in a pair of games last week.
- Blake Hinson has scored 20 or more points five times and is averaging 19.1 points per game, while shooting 50.3 percent (77-of-153) from the field and 46.7 percent (42-of-90) from three-point range over the past 12 games.
- Ishmael Leggett has emerged as one of the top sixth men in the ACC averaging 12.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game off the bench over the past 12 contests.
- Jaland Lowe has 13 double-figure scoring games and is averaging 11.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game in ACC play. He has scored 10+ points in 12 of the past 13 games.

- Blake Hinson ranks 10th in the NCAA with 98 three-point field goals. He is currently tied for fourth in ACC history with 3.4 three-point field goals per game.
- Zack Austin is averaging 9.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game, while going 5-of-10 from three-point range over the past three games for the Panthers.
- Carlton Carrington is attempting to become just the 16th freshman since the 1992-93 season to average at least 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.

BY THE NUMBERS - INDIVIDUAL
- Blake Hinson has scored in double figures in 25 games and topped the 20-point mark 12 times. He ranks among the ACC leaders in scoring (4th - 18.5 ppg.), three-pointers (1st - 98), and three-point percentage (4th - .421).
- Pitt’s guard trio of Carlton Carrington (13.4 ppg.), Ishmael Leggett (12.1 ppg.), and Jaland Lowe (9.1 ppg.) combines to average 34.6 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game. All three players are shooting over 80 percent from the foul line with the group combining to go 180-of-218 (.826) from the charity stripe.
- Jaland Lowe is averaging 13.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, while going 22-of-53 (.415) from three-point range, since joining the starting lineup (15 games). He has scored in double figures 12 times, while also playing 30+ minutes in 12 of those contests.
- Carlton Carrington has scored in double figures 20 times with five or more assists on 13 occasions. He ranks second among ACC freshmen in scoring (13.4 ppg.) and rebounds (5.2 rpg.) and tied for third assists (4.2 apg.).
- Blake Hinson has made at least one three-pointer in 61 of 65 games as a Panther and is now 195-of-488 (.400) from three-point range in his career at Pitt. He is five threes shy of breaking the Pitt single season record as well as becoming the seventh Pitt player to reach 200 career threes.
- Ishmael Leggett leads the Panthers in rebounding (5.4 rpg.) and steals (34), while ranking third in scoring (12.1 ppg.) and assists (58). He has scored in double figures 21 times including 10 of the past 12 games off the bench.
- The post tandem of Federiko Federiko and Guillermo Diaz Graham combines to average 11.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game, while shooting 53.9 percent (124-of-230) from the field.

BY THE NUMBERS - TEAM
- The Panthers are one win shy of reaching the 20-win mark for the second consecutive season. Pitt has not accomplished that feat since the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.
- Pitt has held 12 opponents under 30 percent shooting from three-point range and leads the ACC in three-point defense (.307). The Panthers have won six consecutive games when holding the opposition below 33.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
- Pitt is shooting 47.3 percent from the field, including 39.2 percent from three-point range in its wins, compared to 35.2 percent and 28.6 percent shooting splits from the field and beyond the arc in losses. Pitt is 15-0 when posting a better field goal percentage than its opponent.
- The Panthers have committed 10 or fewer turnovers 14 times in ACC play and rank second in turnovers per game (9.14 topg.). Pitt’s guard trio of Carlton Carrington, Jaland Lowe, and Ishmael Leggett has a combined 1.99:1 assist-to-turnover ratio for the season.
- Pitt is 16-2 when winning the rebounding battle. The Panthers rank among the ACC leaders in offensive rebounds (3rd - 11.7 orpg.), rebounds (3rd - 37.6 rpg.), rebound margin (3rd - +4.38), defensive rebound percentage (1st - .769), and offensive rebound percentage (T-3rd - .317).
- Pitt is 15-2 on the season when scoring more bench points than its opponent. The Panthers have won the bench scoring battle in 10 of the past 12 contests.
