PITTSBURGH—Three Pitt football players pursuing dreams of playing in the National Football League next season were invited to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, the league announced this week.
Cornerback M.J. Devonshire, offensive lineman Matt Goncalves and wide receiver Bub Means will each travel to Indianapolis later this month for the ultimate NFL job interview.

This year's NFL Combine will be held inside the Indianapolis Colts' Lucas Oil Stadium from Feb. 26 through March 6. On-field drills begin Feb. 29 and continue through March 3, with NFL Network providing live coverage of the highly anticipated annual event.
Devonshire will participate with the defensive backs on Friday, March 1 beginning at 3 p.m. Means and the other wide receivers will take the field on Saturday, March 2 after 1 p.m. And Goncalves and the men in the trenches will do drills on Sunday, March 3 at 1 p.m.
In 2023, Pitt led the ACC with six NFL Draft selections, including first-round pick Calijah Kancey, who starred as a pass-rushing defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers late in his rookie season.
Kancey's incredible showing at last season's NFL Scouting Combine launched him up draft boards and resulted in him becoming Pitt's second first-round pick in as many years after Kenny Pickett in 2022.
The Panthers' 14 NFL Draft picks since 2021 also paces all ACC football programs.
