Austin, Osorio Mendoza Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Men's Basketball's Zack Austin and Women's Diving's Mariana Osorio Mendoza were named PNC Achievers of the Week following a pair of strong performances.
Zack Austin buried his fifth three-pointer of the game with 0.4 seconds remaining in overtime as Pitt overcame a double-figure halftime deficit en route to a 91-90 road win over Ohio State on Friday. Austin went 5-of-8 from three-point range and finished with 16 points, five rebounds, and two steals as Pitt improved to 7-1 on the season.
Pitt women's diver Mariana Osorio Mendoza won a Bronze Medal on Platform at the Junior World Championships in Brazil this past weekend. With her podium finish on Friday night, she became the third best women's platform diver in the world. The sophomore from Colombia started off her week with an impressive showing on Wednesday as she finished 10th in the world on 3 Meter. Osorio Mendoza has been named ACC Women's Diver of the Week twice already, earning three victories and one second place finish for the Panthers so far this season.
