
Vidovich and Svendby Earn Season Awards; Eight Panthers Garner All-Conference Honors

CHARLOTTE – After winning the ACC regular season title outright for the first time in program history, the Pitt men's soccer team garnered numerous all-conference honors, as announced by the league office Wednesday evening.
Notably, head coach Jay Vidovich was named the ACC Coach of the Year, while junior defender Casper Svendby was tabbed the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Of note, Svendby was also named to the All-ACC First Team.
Vidovich's nod marked his eighth time receiving the league's coach of the year honor. Svendby, a native of Drammen, Norway, became the second Panther to be named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year – joining Jasper Lo¨effelsend who won the award in 2020 and 2021.

Offensive Player of the Year – Matthew Roou, Sr., F, Notre Dame
Defensive Player of the Year – Casper Svendby, Jr., D, Pitt
Midfielder of the Year – Joran Gerbet, Sr., Clemson
Goalkeeper of the Year – Wessel Speel, Gr., Duke
Freshman of the Year – Ransford Gyan, M, Clemson
Coach of the Year – Jay Vidovich, Pitt
In addition to Vidovich and Svendby's awards, seven other Panthers earned All-ACC honors.
Svendby, along with senior midfielder Guilherme Feitosa and senior forward Luis Sahmkow were named to the All-ACC First Team, while senior forward Casper Grening was tabbed to the All-ACC Second Team.
Junior keeper Cabral Carter and junior defender Jackson Gilman notched All-ACC Third Team accolades, while freshmen Niklas Soerensen and Lasse Dahl secured ACC All-Freshman honors.
