Jenkins, Heller Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Women's Basketball's Amiya Jenkins and Reece Heller from Wrestling were named PNC Achievers of the Week following a pair of strong performances over the weekend.
Jenkins led the Pitt women's basketball team to consecutive wins over Canisius and Bucknell to open the 2024-25 campaign, averaging an impressive 14.5 points and 4.0 rebounds. Against Bucknell, the junior guard logged 19 points on 8-of-19 shooting, bringing her just one point shy of tying her career high of 20. Additionally, the Lexington, Ky., native snagged six boards against the Bison, while registering a +10 plus/minus – good for second amongst all players.
Heller, ranked No. 18 at 184, earned three straight victories en route to the 184A title at the 2024 Journeymen Collegiate Classic Sunday. The Riverwoods, Ill. native opened the tournament with a 4-1 sudden victory over Dylan Connell of Illinois and followed with an upset win over No. 8 Dylan Fishback of NC State. Heller claimed the top finish on a medical forfeit over Brian Soldano from Rutgers in the final.
