PITTSBURGH—Pitt sophomore linebacker Rasheem Biles was honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference for his performance in the Panthers' 41-13 victory over Syracuse last week.
Biles earned ACC Linebacker of the Week for the first time in his career playing a key role in Pitt's exceptional defensive effort against Syracuse.
- Biles set the tone for Pitt's 41-13 demolition of Syracuse by opening the scoring with a dazzling pick six and then continued to fill up the stat sheet for the balance of the game.
- His 35-yard interception return for a touchdown gave Pitt a 7-0 lead just over two minutes into the contest.
- Biles went on to compile a game-high 12 tackles while adding a 15-yard sack and two quarterback hurries.
- He spearheaded a Pitt defensive effort that limited Syracuse to just six rushing yards on 29 carries (0.2 avg.).
- The Orange were held to a season-low 13 points.
Pitt is ranked No. 18 by the Associated Press and No. 17 by the US LBM Coaches Poll after achieving its first 7-0 start since 1982.
