Pitt held off North Carolina 34-27 in 2019 to pick up its first win over the Tar Heels since joining the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2013. Pitt at Georgia Tech 34-20
12/10/20
Pitt finished their 2020 regular season after a month long postponement due to COVID with a win against Georgia Tech, further delayed during the second quarter by a power surge that took out a bank of lights. Despite all the hold-ups the Panthers still came away with the win.
Pitt vs UNC 30-23 (OT)
11/11/21
Kenny Pickett threw for 346 yards with three touchdowns and an interception and became the school's career leader in passing yards in Pitt's 2021 overtime win against UNC. Pickett's dart to Krull in the middle of a downpour gave the Panthers the lead during the opening possession of the first extra period. North Carolina attempted to respond but went nowhere on four plays, the last a fourth-down desperation heave by quarterback Sam Howell that was picked off by M.J. Devonshire.
Pitt vs WVU 38-31
9/1/22
In the first Backyard Brawl since 2008 the Panthers capitalized on a M.J. Devonshire interception returned 56 yards for a touchdown to take the first win in the most recent chapter of one of college football's most historic rivalries. Pitt fans turned out at Acrisure Stadium that night to the tune of 70,622 attendees, the largest crowd for a sporting event in Pittsburgh History.
Pitt vs Boston College 24-16
11/16/23
Pitt's Most recent Thursday night win came last year with a late season win against Boston College. Nate Yarnell kept the ball in the Panther's hands with no interceptions on the night, which proved enough to bring home the win.
